An Organization Gives Thanks

Hey Touché Readers!

Nebraska AIDS Project recently held their Night of a Thousand Stars gala in downtown Omaha at the Magnolia Hotel on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011. The Board of Directors, staff and clients want to extend a huge ‘Thank You’ to all who supported this event. It seemed to be a good-time-had-by-all who attended. The planning committee of Stars, Magnolia hotel staff, volunteers and entertainers all deserve a big pat on the back for doing a super job.

The number of attendees and dollars were down from what were hoped for, but overall, it was successful event. Every dollar counts in today’s economy. Final numbers will be available at a later date.

For anyone who is unfamiliar with Night of a Thousand Stars event and its purpose are encouraged to contact NAP at 402-552-9260. It has been our largest fundraising event for the past 19 years. It helps cover the cost of several services provided to people affected by HIV and AIDS.

Nebraska AIDS Project leads the community in the fight to overcome HIV & AIDS, and its stigma, through education, supportive services and advocacy. We provide services to the entire state of Nebraska, Southwest Iowa and parts of Wyoming.

It is not said enough but everyone associated with Nebraska AIDS Project truly appreciate the LGBT community members for all their support. Without your support, we know things would be even more difficult for the agency. Thank you all who give time and or money for this cause.

NAP says ‘Thank You’ to Jeremiah Morello & Kyle Baun (owners of Flixx Lounge) for bringing to Omaha the very handsome and sexy Jack Mackenroth (from Project Runway season #4). For those who didn’t get the chance to meet Jack, you missed out. What a fun, charming and wonderful man.

Here’s to 2012.
